'Elite Model Look' Winner's Extremely Slight Frame Raises Questions

Julia Schneider, who was crowned the winner of the 2011 Elite Model Look on Tuesday, is extremely slender and this has led to serious questions being raised about the standards of beauty in the fashion industry. Although she is a stunner, her acutely frail body structure has raised speculations that young girls might look upto her and consider her as an example of a physical ideal. The implications may be dangerous as this might lead anorexic women with eating disorders to believe that their frames are normal. According to the Daily Mail, while Julia's age, genetics and passion for ice hockey are most likely the reason for her waif-like build, the concern for many is that if she were to appear in a fashion campaign, people might try to emulate her.
