Based on the epic love story between King Edward VIII and Wallis Simpson, the film also follows a contemporary romance between a young woman and a married security guard. It stars Andrea Riseborough and James D’Arcy as Wallis and Edward and Abbie Cornish and Oscar Isaac as the modern couple. Of course Madge showed up, looking fierce, (including an 18K white gold Piaget) to introduce the film. The event drew out a lot of New York scene-sters ranging from art patrons to hipsters and all variations in between (my invite must have gotten lost in the mail) like Cinema Society Founder Andrew Saffir, Harvey Weinstein, Anderson Cooper, Chloe... After the film, guests headed over to Crown for the after party.
